State Licensing Requirements

The length of an esthetician program can vary depending on the state in which you plan to become licensed. Each state has its own requirements for esthetician education and licensing, and the duration of the program is often tailored to meet these standards. Nearly every state offers a license specifically tailored toward esthetics and almost all of them require a minimum number of *in-school training hours. To become a licensed esthetician in Arizona, you must complete a training program that consists of at least 600 hours and then pass your exams.

Some states allow you to apprentice in a salon or spa to complete some or all of your training hours. Once that’s done, you’ll take both a written and practical exam to show that you have the knowledge and skills to safely work with clients.

Whether You Choose A Full or Part-Time Schedule

According to BeautySchool Directory.com, more and more skin care programs are starting to offer both full-time and part-time hours. At The Studio Academy of Beauty, we know you have a life outside of school. That’s why we make our schedules easy to work with! Whether you are a parent, student, or an employee, we offer both part-time and full-time schedules with both evening and day classes. There are options for everyone!

As a full-time student, it will typically take you between 4 and 6 months to complete your education. Attending school part-time, can take as long as 9 to 12 months. As you can see, even if you can only go to school part-time, you’ll be ready for the workforce much sooner than if you were to attend a traditional 4-year college.

Your Program Of Choice

The campus and program you choose have something to do with the time you’ll spend attending esthetician school. The curriculum differs from college to college, meaning that the time spent in the program can differ based on where you go. Be sure to find one that best fits your needs, goals, and especially the licensing requirements.
